Welcome to Mei Xiang Cheese Factory! We are a family-run cottage factory creating unique artisanal cheeses from yak milk.

Founded in 2004, our factory uses fresh milk brought down from the pristine, untouched Yunnan mountains each morning. Yaks live only at extremely high altitudes, nourished by grass,flowers and herbs from the mountain sides. Their milk is rich in nutrients and flavor. Having undergone Western cheesemaking training, our cheesemaking family creates distinctive cheeses from their traditional yak milk.

Here at Mei Xiang Cheese Factory, we hope that our innovative and unique product can also help bring development to our local villagers by utilizing their most abundant resource- yaks.
